Teens

Welcome to our TeenLife Homepage! This page along with our TeenLife Facebook Page and our TeenLife Update eNewsletter serves as connection points for the teens and parents of Lifeway Baptist Church.

At Lifeway Baptist Church, we believe that God has a plan for every young person!  His plan for a life is very obtainable and provides a contentment that is not found through anything else. Our program is centered around God's Word because we know that His Word changes lives. Our goal is to help young people in their relationship with the God Who created them and sent His son, Jesus Christ, so that they can have everlasting life.

At Lifeway, we know how to have real fun, enjoy real friends, and experience real faith! If you are looking for a church to be a part of, come and visit us. Also, grab a friend and attend our next activity. We hold weekly services and outreach opportunities, discipleship opportunites, and monthly activities.  We also have a teen devotional that is an encouragement to thousands of Christian teens around the world!  If you need a ride, contact us and we will pick you up.

Launch Out

posted: 1/9/2014

Luke 5:4-5 "Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing:nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net."

The theme "Launch Out" carries a lot of different meanings. It is a challenge to try something different and new, or a simple call to get back to what we know is right; but in reality it is a statement of departure for all. We are to depart from the normalcy of life; to get out of the "daily grind" and to plunge into life as though it means something - because it does!

In this passage we see Christ telling Simon to do something he already had done several times. Launching out into the deep and casting his nets was nothing to be anxious or fearful about because this is what Simon was seasoned at, he was a fisherman. The normal thing to do when catching nothing was to row to shore and hang up the nets. Nevertheless, Christ takes Simon's failed attempt and tells him to go again, this time with His instruction. Simon obeys and catches a multitude of fish!

We are all instructed to depart from normal, to go against the flow of our culture, to face the odds and stand for Christ. We have the option to neglect that call and go our own way, or heed His instruction and obey whatever the cost. Simon experienced a great reward for his obedience, and God was glorified through His purpose being fulfilled.

Each moment of today you have a choice: live normal, or Launch Out!
