Don't Wait!

James 4:13-15 - "Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. "
Life flies by! It seems like it was just yesterday when I entered Middle School in the sixth grade. I remember all the issues of learning my locker combination and the eighth grade bullies that always seemed to come after me. I remember it all, and that was 13 years ago! Verse 14 asks “For what is your life? It is even a vapor.” Life is too rapid to take it for granted. We must learn as teenagers to not put things off for tomorrow that we could get done today. It has been reported that 95% of all people are procrastinators. We wait to do homework, chores, and nice things for our siblings; but I would like to point out three areas in life that we should not wait in.
First, don't wait to learn of salvation. II Corinthians 6:2 says that now is the day of salvation. Too many young people put off getting saved because they think they have plenty of years to make that decision. Let me help you with something: YOU MAY NOT! Nearly 15 teenagers die every day in car crashes alone. That is not including all of the other accidents that tragically happen in life. If God is convicting you of coming to Him for true salvation…DON'T WAIT!
Second, don't wait to live for God! No one has a greater impact on teenagers than teenagers! You have an unbelievable opportunity to reach many young people that your youth pastor never will. Give your whole life to Christ, you won't be sorry!
Lastly, don't wait to love others! You could have 60 years left in your life...or 60 seconds. God only knows. You may have an abundance of years left in your life, but your family, friends, classmates, and coworkers may not. I challenge you to show your love for your parents! Love your siblings more than you love yourself. Love those that have nothing to give to you! Too many people wait to love someone until after that someone has left for eternity. In each of these three areas, I beg of you, DON'T WAIT!
