Finding the Faithful

Proverbs 20:6 - Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?
Here we see one of those verses that, to a preacher, begs to be preached! One that hits most anyone at any stage of their life! As we look at this verse and apply it to our lives, I believe that we see two main areas that all of us can become better Christians in.
First we see that we are to be different. Different in the area of humbleness! We are to view ourselves for who we truly are...good for nothing sinners! When we see ourselves in the light of reality we gain the right perspective on who we really are and what we truly deserve...Hell! As we strive to be humble, it takes constant effort to fight off our prideful flesh and constant submission to the Holy Spirit. Decide today to be different than others in the area of humbleness!
Secondly, we see that we are to be deliberate. Deliberate in the area of faithfulness! We are to be faithful to the Lord in every area of our lives. We are to have the same evangelistic mindset at school and work as we do soul-winning with the Youth Pastor! I want to encourage you this week to be deliberate in your faithfulness to our Lord! Be faithful in your devotions, your thoughts, your relationships, and your church attendance! If you desire to be faithful, you must put together a plan of attack. We all want to "do" right, but often fail to plan how to accomplish it! "He who fails to plan, plans to fail" so deliberately plan how you will be faithful to the Lord today!
I challenge you this week to be different in the area of humbleness and deliberate in the area of faithfulness. You won't regret it!
