Tomorrow?

Proverbs 27:1 - "Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth."

As we look at this verse, it is easy to see that the Lord is telling us to take advantage of the days that we have and not to assume we have the future to look forward to. Although I strongly believe that we ought to have wisdom concerning planning for the future, I also believe that we ought to be aware of the fact that we may not have a "tomorrow". As we look at this verse, I want you to think of two areas in our lives that this verse applies.

First, look at your own life. We do not know when our day to pass on to eternity will come! It may be 60 years from now, or it may be 60 seconds! With that reality in mind, I want to first encourage you to make sure that you know you will spend eternity in Heaven! Secondly, make every second count that you have with your loved ones! And lastly, don't procrastinate witnessing to those God has laid on your heart to share the Gospel with!

Also, look at the lives of those around you. You do not know when their time will come to pass on into eternity! Let me be pretty blunt with you for a second...parents die every day-at all ages and stages of life! Not just parents, but siblings do too! Teenager, you may have an abundance of years left in your life, but your parents, siblings, friends, classmates, and coworkers may not. I challenge you to reach them with the Gospel while you still can. Strive to spend quality time with them while you still can! Do everything in your power to make this day count...while you still can! They won't be around forever!

You are not guaranteed tomorrow, so squeeze EVERYTHING you can out of today!
